One of our newest Board Members, Kate Fitz-Gibbon has written an ‘explainer’ for the Royal Commission into Family Violence in The Conversation, an online news magazine produced by academics.
She writes about the importance of this investigation for the many victims of family violence in Victoria. In 2013-14 there were 65,000 incidents of family violence reported to the Victorian Police alone.
The commission will give the state the chance to be at the forefront of making meaningful change in an area where it is desperately needed.
